When we were picked up at our hotel, there was already a young couple in the van. Then we stopped at another hotel and picked up a young man. At this point, the vehicle was quite full with people and luggage. But, we stopped yet again to pick up two young ladies with their large pack sacks AND their pink, inflated raft. No, they didn't want to deflate it because it took a long time for them to fill it with air in the first place; so after several attempts from the driver to position it in the vehicle, Maurice took the upper hand and shoved it against the window, beside the two owners. We silently thought to ourselves, "but there's no beach in Ubud!" We were all quite relieved when they debarqued at the next beach along the way. The rest of the trip was quite uneventful. Arriving in Ubud, we missed our stop, as we got out too early. We decided to stop at a small restaurant to have lunch and a couple of cold Bali Hai's, plus to make a plan. We had again prebooked our accomodations. The serveuse was very friendly and helpful and the food was great-gado gado, fish salad for Maija and Cap Cay (curried vegies with steamed rice), for Maurice.
